1. Find an insurance company that offers a Safety Rewards program that you would like to participate in.

2. Your insurance company will help you check that you're eligible for Safety Rewards.
3. Accept your insurance company's terms and conditions for the Safety Rewards program.
4. Create a Nest Account or log in to your existing Nest Account to start your Safety Rewards enrollment.
5. Add a Nest Protect to your Nest Account.

a. If you already have a Nest Protect that has been added to your Nest Account, you'll need to authorize Nest to share Safety Rewards data with your insurance company. This will let them confirm that your Nest is connected and working, and verify your enrollment.
b. If you don't already have a Nest Protect, you'll need to get one, set it up, and add it to your Nest Account. Then your insurance company will be able to verify your enrollment.

Setting up a Safety Rewards connection step-by-step

1. Find a Safety Rewards program

You can find Safety Rewards programs on our Safety Rewards partner page.

You can also check insurance company websites to see if they offer programs for Nest Protect owners.

2. Sign up for partner program

Just click or tap on the Safety Rewards partner link and you'll be taken to their website. You'll be presented with their program, it's benefits and the steps to take for participating.

3. Activate the connection

Next, you'll be directed to click or tap on "Safety Rewards" or "Nest." You'll then confirm that you want to set up the Safety Rewards connection.

4. Authorize the connection in the Nest app

Next, you'll be taken back to Nest for the final step.

Once you've read the requests for access to your data, you'll be asked to grant permission. Click or tap on Continue if you would like to continue and grant permission. If you don't want to grant permission, just click or tap back in your browser. If you don't grant permission, you won't be able to enroll in the program or receive program benefits or discounts.

5. Complete the connection

If you are already logged into your Nest account, that's it!

Otherwise you must log in or — if you don't have a Nest account yet — create a Nest account to complete your enrollment.

When your enrollment is complete you will be redirected back to your insurance company's site.

To cancel your participation in Safety Rewards you must remove the permission in the Nest app or by contacting your Insurance company.
