If you are a Nest Aware with Video History subscriber, all of your video footage is recorded to the cloud. You can watch your Nest Cam footage anytime on the Nest app on your phone or tablet.

If you have Nest Aware with Video History, all of your Nest Cam's video will be recorded automatically to the cloud. Your footage will be available for you to watch for 10 days or 30 days, depending on which plan you have. This means you can watch not only your live stream, but also past footage, from anywhere.

To watch your past footage, open the Nest app on your phone or tablet. Then, click on a camera with Video History to access both your live video and recorded footage.

Controls

There are a few different tools to help you get around your recorded video. The first of these tools is your Player Control, which is located at the bottom of the screen:

This button will bring you to the start of the event prior to the video you are currently watching.

Tapping this button will rewind your video by 30 seconds.

Tapping this button will skip your video ahead by 30 seconds.

Tapping this will bring you to the start of the next event after the footage you're currently watching.

This button will bring you back to a live view, so you can watch what's happening right now.

When your phone is in portrait mode, you'll always see the player controls.

When you turn your phone so that it is sideways, the player controls will disappear. This will let you take advantage of a large widescreen image without the controls blocking your view. Simply tap in the middle of the screen to show the controls. Tap in the middle of the screen again to hide the controls.

History Button

If you have an activity zone defined, you will see it listed here as well and you can filter those as well.

You can filter multiple activity types by selecting them before clicking done.

Tapping on Replay will play the activity over again from the start. Tapping on continue will let you continue watching footage from the end of the activity.

Tapping on the history button in the lower right corner will take you to a list of activities that your Nest Cam has recorded, newest first.

You can filter what kind of activities you would like to see by tapping the filter button in the upper right hand corner.

Tapping on one of these activities will show you footage of the activity. The video will start playing right before the detected activity.

Once the activity has finished playing, two options will appear: Replay and Continue.
