Silencing 1st and 2nd generation Nest Protects
If you have both generations of Nest Protect in your home, silencing a Heads-Up or Emergency Alarm works differently, depending on which Nest Protect first sounds the alert. If it's a 2nd gen Nest Protect, you can use the Nest app or press the Nest button on it to hush the alarm. If it's a 1st gen Nest Protect, just press the Nest button on it.
Don't worry, the Nest app will tell you if you can use your phone to hush the alarm.
And no matter if it was a 1st or 2nd gen Protect that first sounded the alert, once you silence it, you'll silence any other Nest Protects in your home that were alarming remotely.
