Watch your shadow

If you’ve turned on more lights or opened the shades and the QR code still isn’t scanning, make sure you’re not casting a shadow onto the QR code.

Hold steady

Put your Nest product on a counter, table or other solid object. If it’s shaking too much, your phone’s camera may have trouble focusing. You can also try propping your elbows on the table to steady your hand.

Keep your distance

Make sure that the QR code fills the box in the Nest app. If you’re holding your phone too close or too far away, it won’t scan.

Use the serial number

Nest products also have a serial number that you can enter instead of scanning the QR code. The Nest app will give you the option to use the serial number if the above tips didn’t help.
