The Quick View screen gives you a clean, icon-based interface with key information. You can quickly see weather, indoor temperature, humidity, and previews of your system settings and status.
With the 4.3 software release, all Nest Thermostats now have an enhanced interface that uses icons instead of words. You get quick access to important information without having to dig into Settings. Simply rotate the thermostat ring to select a menu icon, and you'll see a preview of the status or settings for that icon. Here's a quick rundown of what you'll see.

Select the checkmark icon and you'll see the current weather conditions and outdoor temperature as well as the indoor temperature, indoor humidity and thermostat location. Press the thermostat ring while this icon is selected to return to the temperature screen.

Thermostat
This lets you see what mode your thermostat is in: Heat, Cool, Heat-Cool or Off. Press the thermostat ring to switch between modes if your system has them.
Fan
Here you can see what mode you've set your fan to: On, Off, or Automatic. Press the thermostat ring to select a new mode. This will appear only if your system has a fan that can be controlled separately from heating and cooling.
Energy
Energy gives a quick summary of yesterday's energy use. Press the thermostat ring to see more details about your Energy History for the last 10 days.
Schedule
This shows the next upcoming temperature in your schedule. Press the thermostat ring to view and change your weekly schedule.
Settings
Settings simply shows you the current date and time on the Quick View screen. Press the ring to access thermostat settings such as Safety Temperatures, Nest Sense, and more.
Exclamation point
If the thermostat is offline, you'll see an exclamation point inside the cogwheel icon.
Home/Away
This icon shows the current Home or Away status. Press the ring to quickly switch between Home and Away.
