Learn more about the Nest apps

If you don’t complete setup with the Nest Mobile app, the following features will not be available:

  • Wireless interconnect between your Nest Protects
  • Personalizing your Nest Protect settings
    • Naming of your Nest Protects
    • Turn settings on or off
    • View technical info
  • Remote access to view the status of your Nest Protects

  • Automatic software updates

If you don’t have a supported smartphone or tablet, you can install Nest Protect but it will not be interconnected or associated with a Nest Account. If you decide to do this, check with your local fire department to make sure local codes do not require interconnected alarms.
